  • Tiki Town is located on the Schindleria sim. The word “schindleria” is a genus of tiny marine fish that primarily live among reefs. Schindleria is also a genus of flowering plants native to Bolivia, Peru, and Paraguay.

  • Tiki Town has the lowest tax rates of any town in Second Life. In fact, taxes haven’t been collected in six years and the last tax collector to visit Tiki Town was never seen again.

  • If you re-arrange the letters in “Tiki Town” you can spell “ok nitwit”.

  • The Tiki Town totem pole is named King Kuno Lingus. He is the guardian spirit of Tiki Town.

  • When Tiki Town first opened it was just a quarter of the Schindleria sim which means Tiki Town is now 36 times larger than when it began.

  • Tiki Town was built on an old bikini burial ground and many believe that the spirits of lost swimsuits haunt the shores of Tiki Town on nights of a full moon.

  • 99.6% of Tiki Towners don’t know what the word “sesquipedalian” means.

  • Tiki culture is an American-originated art, music, and entertainment movement inspired by Polynesian, Melanesian, and Micronesian cultures and is also influenced by the cultures of Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, and the Caribbean Islands.

  • Tiki Town and La Cuna have more than a dozen party venues combined including multiple clubs, many outdoor party areas, a drive-in theater, two clubhouses, and the main Tiki Town resort dance floor.

  • Tiki Town has about 22 DJs that stream a variety of music throughout the week plus many, many more DJs that stream during off hours as well as for special occasions and weekend parties.

Edit: Tiki Town also has a semi-secret adult movie theater located in the caves near the main club.

  • According to Maori mythology, Tiki was the first human. He found the first woman, Marikoriko, in a pond and was seduced by her. Sounds like Marikoriko was the original Tiki Toy.

  • Tiki Town has formal parties four times per year. Each previous formal party has been held at a special location including a casino, a jazz club and the La Cuna Cartel mansion and the events have had a variety of fun themes such as Casino Nights and a Roaring 20’s Jazz theme. The next formal event will be the Winter Formal that will be on Saturday, December 23rd. The event will be held at Tiki Town’s Winterland.
