On the night of Friday, December 10th numerous tornadoes devastated Kentucky and took the lives of at least 78 people and left thousands homeless. It was the single worst tornado disaster in Kentucky’s history.

Tiki Town’s DJ Friar Don dedicated his Wednesday, December 15th party at Tiki Town toward raising money to help those affected by this tragic event. There were more than two dozen people that attended the two-hour fund raising party. Over the course of the party we saw the donation total go higher and higher. Within minutes of the start of the party the total had already reached L$20,000 and soon it passed L$50,000 and kept going up from there.

At the end of the event Friar Don announced that he would match the donations collected at Tiki Town. During his set on Wednesday Friar Don was able to raise L$101,168 through the many generous donations from those that attended the party. With his matching donation, a total contribution of $850.00 (USD) was donated to the United Way’s Kentucky Tornado Fund.

Thank you very much to Friar Don for his generosity and thank you to everyone who donated.
